Your order will be delivered every Friday between 11 am and 6 pm.
We work on a weekly cycle where the online shop opens on Sunday’s and closes at 12 pm the following Wednesday. So, for the organised ones amongst us, you can do your shopping in advance but you will only receive your order on Fridays. For the lastminute.com ones amongst us, the latest you can order is Wednesday morning before 12 pm to receive your order on the Friday of the same week.
Please note: This means that Wednesday morning (before 12 pm) is the latest you can order for the same week (Friday) delivery.
TIP: Plan your 20 minute online shop at The Urban Farmer store into your schedule. The convenience of getting all your organic, chemical free, home made, love filled produce delivered weekly is such a joy and a blessing. Once you are in the habit of ordering in advance and while your fridge still has food in it, you will wonder how you ever did it differently. Yay for Fridays food delivery day!

Not all the fresh produce is available during the shopping period, which is Saturday 8 am to Wednesday 12 pm for delivery on Friday between 11 am and 6 pm. The reason for this is that we are truly farm to folk and some of our farms need time to harvest your veg, milk the cows and gather the eggs. This means that ‘immediate convenience’ is not always possible and that I need to place my orders a few days in advance. So, please note:
Mysthill milk, yoghurt and cream and Trump and Timbal Coffee cuts off on Monday at 4:30 pm – We have other milk and yoghurt options open until Wednesday 10 am.
Farmer Angus eggs and Made at Home cuts off on Tuesday at 1 pm.
All other products are available during the full shopping period of Saturday 8 am – Wednesday 12 pm.
TIP: Make sure to shop between Saturday 8 am and Monday 4:30 pm to ensure you get Mysthill dairy and Farmer Angus eggs

Sometimes, against all odds there are complications and not all produce is delivered. When it comes to small farmers and small producers, things just don’t always go according to plan. For example a given crop might have its own plan and something showing online as available is against natures will. This can also be the case with the not so small producers, in other words, sometimes and against all our efforts, things don’t happen as we wish and you may be short delivered on your order. We do everything in our power to avoid this happening, but in the case that it does, we promise to refund your short order within 3 days by the option you have chosen during checkout. IE either into your online wallet or EFT into your account
TIP: Endeavour to try develop a sense a flexibility, sometimes not getting exactly what we want comes with delicious surprises and gifts.

All our fruit and veg is organic! We have tried to keep the vast majority of the rest of our products local and organic, there are however some imported products and this is only because we are unable to find these products locally. Our focus is to support local and small producers and to provide you with the freshest and most high frequency food. Our favourite suppliers are those who make their produce in their own home. For us, the more life force in the way of energy from children and lovers and animals running around the kitchen the better.
The Same goes organic, personally 95% of the food I eat is organic and all this food is on offer here. If it is not organic, there are some organic ingredients in the produce and it is always made with love and in small batches.

As far as absolutely possible we use biodegradable, glass, paper or no packaging. I give my suppliers (who normally use plastic) the biodegradable bags to pack in for me and most happily oblige. Sometimes and especially in the case of dairy and meat, plastic is impossible to avoid. Where there is glass alternatives we always go for glass.
Your order is packed in cardboard boxes which we encourage you to return so we can reuse them. Please collect them and give them to Daniel, our wonderful delivery guy.
-
Yes, please do. All glass can be returned. Not all glass gets a deposit back, but please return in case it does. Mysthill and Oh Oat Milk will give a deposit back for the glass. For each glass bottle you return we will refund you R6 and this will be refunded on the first Monday of every month.
Please give your glass to Daniel when you delivers your weekly food box.
TIP: Keep your boxes in the garage and collect your rinsed glass bottled in them. Each week Daniel will collect them.
